I’m an old school Engineer & Draughtsman turned software application specialist working in multiple sectors including general mechanical, automotive, product & industrial design & digital sculpting. Playing guitar from an early age and making music has always been a passion and release.
I have been in several bands playing both guitar and bass and always setup and modified all of my own guitars over the years, but more recently found that there were things which I needed which I just couldn’t get from an off the shelf guitar, this led me to explore making one for myself using influences from my previous work experiences and from guitars I’ve had allowing me to build in my own personal requirements for a guitar.
Get in touch and let me know what you’re looking for in your guitar ([email protected]). We’ll talk and discuss what’s possible and make sure we’re agreed on what the final build should be.
Prices are based on the cost of hardware, electronics, woods and labour. Generally, prices for a custom build average out between £2,500 and £3,500 (GBP). We will discuss likely costs in our initial discussions, and you will receive a finalised quote before build begins
When ordering you will be given a start date and an outline of how long your build is expected to take. Average build time is 6 to 9 weeks but anything that might be expected to extend that build time will be discussed before we start.
Once you agree on the full specification, drawings of the final design and the quotation, 50% is payable in advance. This covers the initial outlay for sourcing woods and parts. The final 50% is payable on completion.
All Rob Powers guitars are covered by a full 12 month manufacturer’s warranty that provides protection against any problems with build or parts. I’m also happy for you to bring your guitar in any time for a setup, should you change string gauge for example. It’s my hope that your guitar is among the finest instruments you own; if you feel it is under-performing in any way, please always get in touch.
I’m sorry but no. The aesthetics and ergonomics are part of what makes a rob powers guitar. However most other aspects can be tailored to suit your requirements such as wood choice, neck profile, fretboard radius & electronics. Get in touch and we can discuss what you’re looking for in your guitar
